This is done by removing the fibers on it, applying a paste of turmeric powder and water all over and finally applying kumkuma in between the eyes of the coconut.
In a plate, a plantain leaf is laid out and one cup of rice is put over the leaf and spread out evenly. The kalasa is decorated with kumkuma and sandalwood. Inside the pot, coins, turmeric, betel leaf, rice or water is filled.
