Krishna Janmashtami 2020,

 is going to celebrate on 11th August. As per the Hindu calendar, it is observed that the eighth day of the dark fortnight or on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha in the month of shravana it’s celebrated.

The Janmashtami festival celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is also the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Krishna was born in the prison of Mathura, son of Devaki and Vasudeva.

Krishna Janmashtami which is also called Saatamtathan, Gokulashtami, etc,. which are celebrated very widely in the cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Latur, etc. people keep fasting, singing devotional songs, keeping a vigil in the night and many more. Some devotees opt for Nirjala fast and some Phallar fast where they only consume fruits, milk, and some light foods. Also statue of baby Krishna is washed and clothed, then placed on a cradle.
