Santana Lakshmi is one of the eight manifestations of Lakshmi (Ashtalakshmi) which is celebrated during Varmahalakshmi pooja. This form of Lakshmi as the name suggests (Santana means offspring), is the Goddess of progeny, the treasure of family life.

Goddess Santana Lakshmi is depicted with six arms, carrying two kalashes, sword, shield and one hand on Abhaya mudra and other hand holding the child. Child holds a Lotus and sits on Goddess Santana Lakshmi’s lap.

Her sword shows that a mother has the ability to do anything to save her child, even kill someone to save her own child.
