How you can prepare for Varamahalakshmi Puja 2020
As we know, Varamahalakshmi puja is the greatest festival to propitiate the Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that worshipping the Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshipping Asthalakshmi, which means eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Wisdom, Love, Fame, Peace, Contentment, and Strength. It is celebrated on the Second Friday or the Friday before the day of the full moon (poornima) in the month of Shravana.

Sri manmanda kataksha labdhivibhat brahmendra gangadharam

Charumathi and the other women in the town who joined her in performing the puja, take a bath early in the morning and then proceed to prepare and decorate a mandapa to invite Goddess Lakshmi. This above sloka is then chanted by them with the utmost devotion and faith.
2. Food prepared on Varamahalakshmi puja day:Based on your tradition some of the items prepared are Idli, Sweet pooran kozhukattai ( poornam borelu), ellu kozhukattai, Karjikai/fried sweet samosa, Chitranna, Payasa and sweet appam.
